iPhone 5 preorders planned alongside Sept 12 launch?

August 16, 2012 By:
Fans of Apple's iPhone may get to preorder their favorite gadget on the day it is launched, likely on September 12, at least in the United States.
Enthusiast site iMore reported the preorders in the US would start on the same day as the event for the next-generation iPhone.
"We've since learned that iPhone 5 pre-orders are currently planned to begin that same day, at least in the U.S. Release is still planned for nine days later, on September 21, 2012," it said.
It added the second wave of iPhone launches for international markets, will begin in the first week of October, likely October 5.
The iMore report cited sources who it said had provided accurate iPhone related launch dates in the past.
On the other hand, it said the information on the international launches came from sources who provided iMore's "Mobile Nations" network with accurate information in the past.
"While iPhone events and pre-orders haven't always occurred at the same time, last year Apple introduced the iPhone 4S on October 4, 2011, and made pre-orders available the following Friday on October 7. This year, it sounds like they're being even more aggressive," it noted.
The first round of releases, which included the U.S., followed on October 14, 2011. The second round of releases followed on October 28, 2011," it added.
iMore also pointed out Apple has been fast to release its recent products, including the iPhone 4S and iPad 3.
On the other hand, iMore said there is no information yet for the release of other Apple products such as the iPod touch, iPod nano, iPad, and iPad mini.
"In the past, Apple has made new iPod devices available quickly, if not immediately following the event, but has also had several weeks between announcement and release, especially for brand new devices," it said.
But it said that if Apple refreshes its entire iOS product line and introduces the iPhone 5 and the iPad mini, "it will make for one of the most, if not the most significant Apple events in the history of the company." GMA News
